About Petra:
(pronounced PEE-tra, like Peeta from The Hunger Games :-)
As a child of the '80s, I grew up in a small country town just outside of Portland, OR. Time back then was mostly spent climbing trees, building forts with my brother, and hijacking large construction equipment and taking it for a ride! Fast forward 30 years, I now live with my husband and son in a small coastal town just outside of San Francisco. Days now are mostly spent hiking the nearby parks, building on to our small house, and working as an engineer on various construction projects. Yep, not much has changed.

I started this blog about a year ago and have to admit, I have not done much in that first year. That is all about to change. I recently was let go from my job as a design engineer for a large consulting firm in downtown SF, and now I'm looking forward to staying more local (getting back to my small town roots) and spending more time with my son, MVP, who was born 2010.
With this increased time to spend at home, I am determined to get on the various home projects I have dreamed up. DIY building, crafting, and home interiors are my interests outside of being the best mother and wifey I can be. I hope this blog can hold me accountable to starting and finishing these projects, and of course, sharing them with you all.
My other interests are in home organizing and fashion so from time to time you may catch some posts with those topics.
I am not the best writer, but I so enjoy reading each and every one of your blogs, my hope is that with practice I can get better and my posts will be more enjoyable to read. Any feedback on how I'm doing is appreciated. Please, only constructive criticisms though. I'm sensitive like that.
