IF i had a daughter, she would be named Sarah or Emily

I'm really into two design shows right now on HGTV. Both air on Saturday nights, which is not a time I'm usually sitting down to veg, so I have my dvr catch them so I can watch them during the week. Sarah Richardson HGTV Bio host's Sarah's Summer House at 8pm and an hour later comes Emily Henderson HGTV Bio Secrets From a Stylist.  This is probably the closest I've come to cyber stalking someone...I follow their facebook pages, their tweets, their blogs, etc.  I can't get enough.  Sarah is no stranger to the design world, this is season three of her "House" series and I've watched rerun after rerun of her past two seasons.  I love Sarah's expertize in pattern and textiles, and how she can spot a great deal at a furniture auction or antique store-like that-(finger snap).  She has a talented and loveable sidekick, Tommy, who keeps me grinning all through the half hour show.  Plus she's a new mommy, like me, and seeing her on camera in all her preggo beauty is too awesome to miss.  Being Canadian also rocks as well.
Cute and bubbly Emily is also a joy to watch on screen.  I was a huge fan from the very first episode of the last Design Star and knew she would go all the way to the end.  I found out by reading her old blog (The Brass Petal) that we have alot in common: both from the Portland area, her birthday is one day shy of mine, she loves her cat, and she relocated to Cali-The Land of Sunnyness!  Oh yeah, and she shops at Anthro my favorite store of all time.

She's so hot, how can you not stalk this girl? Only innocent stalking, not the creepy kind-I promise! :-)

If you do catch either of these shows, please let me know what you think and if you love them as much as I do. We can be HGTV Design buddies for life!

100th Bay to Breakers

I completed my first 12k race today.  I've had this goal on my 43things list for some time and now I can finally cross it off-YAY!!!  Not exactly going at my top speed like I originally intended, more like at a snail crawl-but at least I finished and even went literally "the extra mile" and back to get my medal and T-shirt (and pick up my cousin's as well-who got injured at mile 7 and couldn't make it any farther).  Why did the organizers have us walk all the way back inside Golden Gate park for our shirts?  I have no clue.  All in all, today I think I covered a good 10 miles and boy do my feet and legs feel it.  Not even 9 o'clock yet and I'm ready for bed.  *yawn*

What do you want to accomplish?  Check out 43things and make your own bucket list.

Happy Mother's Day

Grandma-ma, MVP, and myself
This dark and scratchy picture-taken by my phone during last christmas-captures what Mother's Day means to me.  As often as I give my mother a hard time, I very much love her and appreciate all she's done for me.  Now, as a new mother, I am finding out how much work it is to keep a healthy and happy baby, but also how rewarding being a mother truely is.  No amount of effort is too much.  I can give my baby 200% and there is still something left for myself.  Actually, I find the more effort I put in-the more get back.  My husband and son give me so much joy that I can't help but feel I'm truely blessed.  That is what Mother's Day means to me.
